9 Ways to Boost Your Content
Each one these strategies can help you achieve goals like lead generation, brand awareness, and growing your bottom line. Each one could fill its own lengthy post of podcast episode, but sometime’s it’s helpful to look at the full board and see what you are—and aren’t doing.
1. Follow leaders in your industry: Take note of what you do (and don’t) like, and how that can inform your content strategy.
2. Be your audience’s guide: Curate and re-share information of value and add your expertise as commentary.
3. Try a new medium: video, long-form posts, short posts—mix it up for your audience and see how they respond to the new style.
4. Send 1:1 emails to people in your network highlighting your most relevant content for them.
5. Pitch a guest post: Get your insights in front of a fresh audience.
6. Conduct a survey: Check in with your audience on what they’re looking for!
7. Create an Email List: Take the first step by adding a sign up to your website and committing to a certain # of times per month you’ll share recent posts (be it from social or your blog). Have a dormant list? Schedule a ‘reach back out’ email for this week and get it restarted!
8. Create a lead magnet (a.k.a., freebie): One of the best ways to grow your list is to offer your target audience a free download they’re happy to give their email in exchange for.
9. SEO optimize your blog posts: Start with your website’s built-in functionality. Squarespace: Click into the tab where you can add SEO information. Wordpress? Download the Yoast plug-in.
